Fake Problems

Fake Problems

Spurs & Spokes/Bull > Matador EP

Naples, Florida-known for the Everglades, old people, white-sand beaches and hopefully soon, Fake Problems. The EP Spurs & Spokes/Bull > Matador compiles the band’s first 7-inch along with four re-recorded songs from the band’s self-released debut. This EP fuses different sounds and genres together to create a product with potential written all over it. Their sound is fun and upbeat, but not necessarily pop music. There are components of folk mixed with touches of keyboard and electronic elements-all topped off with frontman Chris Farren’s vocals that are actually sung, not screamed or yelled. The influence of fellow hometowner Tom Gabel (of Against Me! fame) can be heard, but Fake Problems are not a wannabe Against Me!. It’s catchy and cute and whets the appetite for what their full-length, How Far Our Bodies Go, will bring this spring. (SABOT PRODUCTIONS) Kira Wisniewski
