Shitdisco

The Emanator

[3.5/5]

Some decades ago, gob-splattered indie-punk kids and cocaine-crusted disco dandies looked at each other through dilated pupils and decided to dance hand-in-hand, leather and polyester together, gold chains and glossy Mohawks roaming free. While that musical DNA has mutated more than a month spent in the metaverse of Spore, just a drop of “Disco Blood” shows it still has new pleasures to yield. The hypersexed tight genes of Shitdisco swell with historical echoes-A DFA-produced Franz Ferdinand; the Rakes with a sex drive; Gang Of Four sans politics but with added jaw-clenching meth crackle-but somehow “Reactor Party” and the rest manage to move it move it despite the legacy, the existential excremental exercises that the kids don’t know but the old dudes understand.
