Peachcake

What Year Will You Have The World?

[3/5]

Part dance evangelists, part inside-joke pranksters and part Doddlebops, Peachcake take glorified junior high gag songs, dress them up in costumes and use them to declare war against anything not awesome. In fact, the duo (vocalist/percussionist/pied piper Stefan Pruett and vocalist/synth op John O’Keefe) hail from the Planet Awesome (aka Cave Creek, Arizona). Despite having all the replay value of the Hampster Dance song, “Stop Acting Like You Know More About The Internet Cafe Than Me” shows off the band’s kitschy, Hellogoodbye-flavored appeal. This track represents the band’s main fault, as well as their best asset: Peachcake really can only be appreciated in their full awesomeness in the live setting. Future gig attendees, be warned: You will be forced to dance whether you like it or not. (SUBTRACTIVE/THE PLANET AWESOME; subtractive.com) Casey Lynch
