Blitz

While KMFDM have always been lumped into the industrial scene, that label has never really done them justice. The joy of this band is that each of their albums sees them switch styles with an apparent ease and without ever sounding like a patchwork quilt of genres. Blitz, their 16th album, shows no signs of the band or their main man Sascha Konietzko slowing down. "Davai" is a classic KMFDM anthem and future electro-dance floor favorite, while (as is so often the case with this band's best work) the sultry female vocals (courtesy of Lucia Cifarelli) are used to perfection on "Bait & Switch," a song that contains strong elements of pop. Konietzko has never worried about anything other than his own vision, and it's that single-mindedness that continues to serve him well 25 years into his career.
