‘Vacation’ levels up Seaway in the pop-punk world

Seaway

Vacation

ROCKS LIKE: New Found Glory, 5 Seconds Of Summer, State Champs

WHAT'S DIFFERENT: Seaway have levelled up in the pop-punk world by delivering an album you’re going to be scream-texting your friends to check out immediately (apropos emojis and GIFs optional). While still maintaining a punk-like grit (“Misery In You,” “40 Over”), their third full-length also incorporates an array of sugary-sweet sounds (“Lula On The Beach,” “London”), showing musical growth that’ll have contemporaries taking note.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: The album does as the title suggests by sending you on a rock-induced getaway highlighted by hooks for days (“Apartment”), humorous pop culture references (“Day Player”) and an appearance by Beartooth’s Caleb Shomo (“Scatter My Ashes Along The Coast, Or Don’t”). With tracks so damn catchy you’ll be singing along upon first listen, you won’t even consider grazing that skip button as it rolls from start to finish.

OUR PICK: “Misery In You”
