N.A.S.A. - The Spirit Of Apollo

The Spirit Of Apollo

N.A.S.A. is the brainchild of Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon, two Los Angeles DJs with some serious connections. On their debut LP, The Spirit Of Apollo, the beatmakers collaborate with artists from all over the musical map-if there's no one on here you like, you should seriously reevaluate your tastes. The bongo-crazy “Money” features the unlikely pairing of David Byrne and Chuck D.; fortunately, both are on top of their game. “Strange Enough” features Karen O, the late Ol' Dirty Bastard and Fatlip, three oddballs who jell brilliantly on this gritty jam. Tom Waits and Kool Keith get chummy on “Spacious Thoughts,” and these genius storytellers seem to have a lot of more in common than one might think. N.A.S.A.'s dope beats and wet-dream collaborations make Apollo an absolute must-have. (
