A little while ago we got an official release date for Rick and Morty‘s fourth season, and now we’re seeing the first new clip.

In the video, we get to see Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi’s guest appearance on the show.

To backtrack, in May we found out the upcoming era will premiere in November 2019. The show tweeted out a poster to hype fans up which you can see below.

The last new episode of the show, “The Rickchurian Mortydate”, aired on October 1, 2017 so we’re long due for new episodes.

In the new clip released during the show’s Comic-Con panel, Waititi appears to play some sort of alien app developer. He’s created an app for what looks like Jerry which, unsurprisingly, does not go well. Sam Neill will also be appearing in the episode with the showrunners wanting this alien species to have a Kiwi sensibility.

You can watch the clip in the player below.

It was also revealed yesterday (July 18) that season 5 is already in the works before the new season has even arrived.

“We’re rolling right into the next batch. The plan has always been to get them out quicker,” show creator Justin Roiland said.

The creators also talked about the long gap between seasons and hinted at when we can expect the new ones.

“I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons 3 and 4 will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous,” Harmon said. “I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again. There were so many things that had to be settled before we even started season 4, and it’s really safe to say — as Justin says — we’re literally writing season 5 while finishing season 4 just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule.”
