Astley has been uploading various covers to his YouTube page over the past few months. Recently, his cover of Foo Fighters‘ “Everlong” surpassed 3 million views. As some of you may remember, Astley played a surprise set with Dave Grohl in London last year. He’s also shared covers of “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “Titanium” by David Guetta featuring Sia.

Now, Astley is taking on one of Post Malone’s biggest tracks for a new cover. In the video, the “Never Gonna Give You Up” singer shares that he is a big fan of the song.

“So there are a lot of words in this song,” Astley says. “It’s not my song. I don’t really know it properly, but I love it. So I’m going to give it a go. Let’s see what happens.”

Despite the jumble of words found throughout “Better Now,” Astley manages to effortlessly perform the track while giving it his own acoustic spin. The contrast between Astley’s vocal style and the track’s lyrics is something many listeners are finding humorous.

“Better Now” is off of Post Malone’s widely successful 2018 album beerbongs & bentleys. Along with recently turning his dentist office into a tattoo studio, Posty is hard at work on a new album. As well, he is reportedly planning to launch a world beer pong league.

Astley recently his full-length album The Best Of Me back in 2019. However, the iconic “Never Gonna Give You Up” still remains the musician’s most popular song with over 333 million Spotify streams.
