We’ve all been patiently, or more so impatiently, waiting for the fourth season of Rick And Morty to air, but it looks like we might not even get it all.

Rick And Morty has easily turned into one of the biggest, if not the biggest, show on Adult Swim. Yet, it might not come back on the network for a fourth season.

Replying to a fan’s angry tweet about the show not getting written in a timely manner, the animated show’s co-creator Dan Harmon, wrote “it can be challenging…to write a show that hasn’t been ordered by a network.”

The news comes as a huge surprise to many fans. The show is easily one of the highest rated shows on the network, even scoring an average of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

In just three short seasons, Rick And Morty has gained a massive following, and its fans have been a driving force in a lot of Rick And Morty related news—like being responsible for MCdonald’s bringing back the show’s highly popular Szechuan sauce.

We’re pretty shocked and devastated that the show hasn’t been picked up by the network yet. Unfortunately, the wait comes as no surprise. As previously reported, the show might not air until later in 2019.

Hopefully things will get settled soon because we’d miss this slightly unconventional family a lot.
