Riot Fest announces 15th anniversary lineup for 2019
The wait is finally over, Riot Fest fans. The first wave of the 15th anniversary lineup for 2019 is officially here.
Yesterday, the festival reminded fans that the lineup was on its way in true Riot Fest fashion.
“Tomorrow at 10am, you can stop complaining about when the Riot Fest lineup is being released and start complaining about when single day tickets go on sale, and when the schedule is released, and when the after shows are announced, and why your favorite band isn’t playing!”
The festival also unveiled a nostalgic video clip of its past 15 years. Among the highlights were glimpses of Andrew W.K., NOFX, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and more.
In addition to the lineup, Riot Fest tickets are officially on sale in both general admission and VIP packages options.
The base VIP package includes festival admission, 5 beverage tickets, VIP gate entrance, VIP lounge, private bar, private bathrooms, locker rental and festival re-entry.
The deluxe VIP package includes everything in VIP plus main stage viewing, open bar, air-conditioned restrooms, plush lounges, free snacks, cell phone charging area, free wi-fi and guest services.
The ultimate VIP package includes everything in the deluxe VIP package plus a private cabana. That cabana features an elevated patio, stage views, air conditioning, private top shelf open bar, lots of great good, private restrooms with AC, plush comfy seating and concierge service.
Last September, blink-182 canceled several upcoming shows including their headlining set at Riot Fest Chicago. At the time, the band cited medical issues with drummer Travis Barker who wasn’t being cleared by his doctor for the upcoming dates.
Weezer, Run The Jewels and Taking Back Sunday replaced the band at the festival with Weezer even performing a blink classic in their absence. The trio announced plans to return to the festival in 2019, and those plans are finally being confirmed.
In addition to blink-182, Jawbreaker, Rancid, Manchester Orchestra, the Story So Far, PVRIS, Pennywise, the Starting Line, Neck Deep, Glassjaw, the Damned Things, Frank Iero And The Future Violents, grandson, iDKHOW, This Wild Life, Can’t Swim, Angel Du$t and many more are all joining the lineup.
A recently reunited Bikini Kill will also be playing as well as Slayer performing at their final Chicago show. The Raconteurs will also be playing their first Chicago show in 11 years. Rise Against’s set also marks a special one as they make their Riot Fest return for the first time since 2012 when they played the first outdoor event.
There will also be a handful of full album performances, which you can see below along with the full lineup.
