Riverdale's Makeup Department Head Erin McKenzie caught up with Teen Vogue to talk more about how viewers can see a characters' future through their makeup.
For example, Veronica Lodge is noticeably more mature and has been taking on quite a bit in recent episodes (don't worry—no spoilers here!), and her makeup reflects that.
"She's becoming a little bit more refined," McKenzie says. "It's so subtle, and only the keen makeup fans are going to really notice, but it's just enough to give her a little bit more control because she's starting to move into a more powerful place."
McKenzie tells TV that fans should pay attention to the characters' eyes. What to look for? "Maybe her eyeliner becomes a little bit thicker, a little bit stronger. It really depends on the mood and the storyline," McKenzie says.
Keep those eyeliner wings strong and eyelids peeled, and be sure to leave a comment if you notice any makeup changes in tonight's episode!
