Is Rob Zombie finally making a sequel to The Devil's Rejects? Rumors are swirling that the musician and filmmaker will begin shooting the long-awaited follow-up this March, said to be titled The Devil's Rejects 2: Three From Hell.

The unsubstantiated Devil's Rejects 2 rumors stem from reports at Bloody Disgusting that posit Zombie will belatedly cap his original horror franchise that started with 2003's House Of 1000 Corpses and continued in 2005's The Devil's Rejects with a third installment that follows the elusive Firefly family in their backwoods exploits of murder and mayhem. While main characters Otis Driftwood (Bill Moseley), Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) and “Baby” (played by Zombie's wife, Sheri Moon Zombie) ostensibly died after a police shootout at the end of Devil's Rejects (no spoiler warnings for movies over a decade old, folks), Bloody Disgusting surmises the rumored sequel's reputed title offers a “possible explanation as to how the Firefly family returns from the grave.”

Zombie is said to be in negotiations with Lionsgate and Saban Films to release the reported sequel. Lionsgate distributed both 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects, the former after a particularly troubled production history that saw Universal Pictures shelve the film for three years.
