Wilshire Studios is teaming with the Rock Hall — the legendary music institution located in Cleveland since 1986 — to produce Immortals. They will then shop to the show to various television networks and streaming outlets for broadcast.

The Rock Hall’s induction ceremony is televised annually. (And Amazon will stream this year’s on July 1). But Wilshire Studios’ development head BJ Levin thinks an episodic TV series will offer a deeper look at the Rock Hall’s rich history.

“The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is such an amazing brand to be able to partner with,” says the Senior VP. “Their wealth of untapped research material and resources will allow this series to stand among some of the great music doc series.”

Currently, the plan is to have a different director helm each episode. The filmmaker will choose a specific inductee that’s impacted their life. And they’ll craft a comprehensive mini-doc about that artist, in relation to the Rock Hall.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame gets episodic

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation president and CEO Joel Peresman will be executive producer of the docuseries. Andrew Hoegl (High School Reunion, Flipping Out, The Real Housewives of New York City) will also produce the new show.

“The mission of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is to honor the legacy and influence of our inductees,” says Peresman. “With this new partnership… we now have another outlet to produce stories about the huge influence rock and roll has had.”
