The band began recording the effort in August. Back in February, guitarist Justin Shekoski updated fans on the band's current state. “We will still be writing new music and working towards a great future. Saosin [are] a group of brothers that all have different things, projects and schedules going on.” This came following news that the Used's Quinn Allman would be taking a temporary, year-long leave, and that Shekoski would be filling in.
