'Scalebound' gameplay trailer features battles, dragon-riding and EDM?

Microsoft has been rolling out new announcements today at Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany and one such reveal offered up some gameplay footage of the late-2016 release, Scalebound. Japanese development company PlatinumGames, who's worked on the Bayonetta franchise, the upcoming Star Fox Zero and more, will lead development for the XBOX exclusive fantasy epic.

The five-and-a-half-minute gameplay trailer looks fun as all get out, with dragon-riding, flaming battles and massive creatures to boot. One curious thing, though, is that the lead character, Drew, wears modern headphones and listens to electronic music while he fights and such. We'll just assume there's a reason explained for that. Otherwise, the game looks beautiful and has a great comedic element to it even if there were some minor performance issues in the reveal (they have plenty of time to work the bugs out before release).
