‘Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark’ teaser brings kids’ nightmares to life
The first teaser trailer for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is finally here and it’s even more horrifying than we anticipated.
The film is based off the 1981 horror series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz, which pretty much was the reason behind all of our nightmares as kids. The books were extremely popular and sold more than 7 million copies worldwide.

Previously, the film released short teasers during the Super Bowl that gave us a glimpse into the film.

Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark centers around a book that exploits kids’ biggest fears, which end up coming to life in nightmarish ways. The film follows group of teens who are trying to solve a string of murders. They end up finding the horrific book and havoc breaks loose. As the trailer puts it “You don’t read the book, the book reads you.”
You can watch the full trailer below, but prepare to be scared.
The film is produced by Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro and directed by André Øvredal. CBS Films and Lionsgate are releasing the adaptation of the film.
Previously, del Toro was set to both direct and produce the film. But he stepped aside and Øvredal took his place.
Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark will hit theaters Aug. 9.
