‘Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark' wakes up the Jangly Man in new trailer

The upcoming Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark film adaptation just dropped a second trailer where the Jangly Man is the star of the show.

The film is based on the 1981 horror series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz, which pretty much was the reason behind all of our nightmares as kids. The books were extremely popular and sold more than 7 million copies worldwide.

The story centers around a book that exploits kids’ biggest fears, which end up coming to life in nightmarish ways. The film follows a group of teens who are trying to solve a string of murders. They end up finding the horrific book and havoc breaks loose.

The newest trailer shows the horrifying creature being summoned from the depths of hell.

“For years the people in this town told lies about me. They locked me away, called me a monster. Now they will get the monster they all deserve,” a creepy voice reads in the trailer.

You can see the brand new trailer below.

In the first trailer, we got a more in-depth look at Harold, the toeless corpse, the Jangly Man and more. As the clip states, “The stories write themselves, and it all comes alive.” Check out the full official trailer below.

The film is produced by Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro and directed by André  Øvredal. CBS Films and Lionsgate are releasing the adaptation of the film.

The adaptation stars Zoe Margaret Colleti (Annie), Michael Garza (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1), Austin Zajur (Fist Fight), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Gil Bellows (11.22.63), Austin Abrams (Paper Towns) and more.

Previously, del Toro was set to both direct and produce the film. But he stepped aside and Øvredal took his place.

The film will hit theaters Aug. 9.
