Back in December, Gwen Stefani returned with her new single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself.” The track’s sound is not only reminiscent of No Doubt’s early ska days, but it also includes plenty of nods to Stefani’s successful career. For instance, early on in the song, Stefani references her mega-hit “Hollaback Girl” with the lyrics, “And it tastes great, I already gave you bananas.”

Now, Stefani has truly thrown it back to one of her most iconic eras. While performing “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” on The Tonight Show, Stefani was joined by multiple backup dancers that might look familiar. All of them were wearing Stefani’s classic outfit from the “Just A Girl” video, giving fans the ultimate ’90s throwback.

Similarly, her new video for “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” is full of nods to some of her most memorable looks over the years. From her Love. Angel. Music. Baby. era to the “Don’t Speak” video, Stefani is reminding fans of just how far she’s come in her new video.

Last month, Stefani sat down with Apple Music‘s Zane Lowe to further talk about her new music. She told Lowe that she never expected to write any new solo music. However, when the coronavirus lockdown happened, the shocking turn of events eventually led her to the studio.

“Like everybody else, but it was a shock [lockdown] for me,” she says. “I hadn’t done that [being at home] in a long time. But then, at that point, I got to go in and record a song. And that was just a flame to the fire. I just was like, ‘I don’t even care if nobody hears this, I got to write some songs.’ So it was almost like I didn’t have anything to say. I didn’t think until I started writing.”

She also revealed that she has 20 new songs in the works, something she never expected to happen in 2020.

“Even though the record definitely… I don’t know. I mean, I say, ‘The record,’ meaning I have probably 20 songs,” she says. “And I never expected to be writing, but it was in there. And it’s been really, really incredible. I mean, there’s just nothing else that I do in my life, and I have done so many things, that makes me feel ignited the way a new song makes me feel.”
