Shan Dan Horan, former President of Artery Records, has been named head of Outerloop Records. “Over the past decade, I’ve become an expert in developing new talent, so I was ecstatic when Outerloop approached me,” he says.

“Mike Mowery and Outerloop have always had the same vision (and passion) as myself and understand how important it is to help up-and-coming talent reach their full potential,” explains Horan. “I’m excited to work with such a great team/roster and feel honored to take the reigns.”

Outerloop Records roaster includes Chasing SafetyLorna ShoreYouth In Revolt and Megosh. The label was formed in 2013 as a partnership between Outerloop Management and Fearless Records with the signing of Ice Nine Kills.

“I’ve known Shan Dan for a number of years and have always admired the impact he made while at his previous companies,” says Mike Mowery, Outerloop Group Founder. “His entrepreneurial spirit, alongside his penchant desire to help artists, combined with his propensity to embrace the changes within the business and utilize technological tools for maximum impact made him a natural fit as the person to head up the label. We are eager to expand the impact we have as a label, not only in our ability to help developing artists, but also in our efforts of signing more established ones as well.

“We are greatly looking forward to what 2018 holds, and beyond!” Mowery adds.

Over the past decade, Horan has worked for labels Century Media, Republic, Universal and Fearless, among others. He has also taught panels about the music industry for Musicians Institute and SAE institute. You can check his advice column on AP here.
