Singer, songwriter and producer gnash has released “Homegrown,” a short documentary that’s part of YouTube Music’s larger collaboration with gnash and The FADER to create a unique look at gnash’s music and artistic background.

The documentary follows gnash home to the house he shares with his family to take a closer look at his personal life and what motivates him as a songwriter.

“If a feeling sticks around long enough for me to feel like I have to talk about it then I’m going to make a song about it,” says gnash. “If that’s a song that helps people then that’s the goal. I just want to help people with how they feel.”

The short film includes commentary from gnash’s friends and collaborators who talk more about his sudden rise to fame after graduating high school and the importance of family.

In the documentary, premiering on The FADER, gnash performs his track “home” and speaks about the financial hardship that ultimately led to him buying his family home from his parents. Check out the official music video for “home (feat. johnny yukon)” below.

In addition to the video, gnash will be hitting the road this spring with Sweater Beats, along with Imad Royal, WRENN, Tulpa & Blankts and Goody Grace on select dates.
