Sleep On It channel live show energy on “Hold Your Breath”—watch

Sleep On It are just one month out from their highly anticipated sophomore record, Pride & Disaster, and they’re teaming up with AltPress to share the next high-energy track, “Hold Your Breath.”

The song follows the first single, “Under The Moment,” which kicked off their next chapter in July. While “Under The Moment“ spotlighted mental health with frontman Zech Pluister describing it as “a cry for help” at its core, “Hold Your Breath” showcases a different side of the band.

The new track’s goal was to channel the energy of the band’s infectious live show, and they added to the vibe with clips from their summer co-headliner with Like Pacific. The intimate footage features everything from their set to their AP office stop where they filmed APTV segments such as On The Spot.

With so much time spent on the road, guitarist TJ Horansky reveals “Hold Your Breath” was the first track he wrote “musically” on a tour. The first time went down in late November during their support slot on the With Confidence and Broadside co-headliner where he channeled the stage vibe into the music.

“I demoed the instrumentals in Maryland, and Zech wrote vocals while we were at the Palladium in Worcester,” he explains. “The energy of the song was inspired by our live show. Since we were on tour and playing every night, I was just in that mindset. I remember showing the guys in the other bands on the tour and getting their feedback. The music video is a logical encapsulation of that energy we put into our live show.”
