Sleep On It announce departure of bassist AJ Khah—UPDATED

Updated: March 1 @ 7:35 A.M. EST

AJ Khah has released a statement regarding his departure from Sleep On It.

“I want to start this off by saying thank you. Thank you to Equal Vision and Rude Records for believing in us and our vision as a band. Thank you to Kevin Lyman, the warped tour family, Slamdunk festival, Johnny Minardi and Bob Donnelly for being my Jedi’s with all your wisdom and guidance. State Champs, We The Kings, As It Is, With Confidence, Waterparks and Grayscale – thank you for all the inside jokes, bus rides and adventures. Thank you to all the friends and family that put us up over the last few years as we sped by in our van.

Most importantly – a big thank you to the fans. Thank you for all your support, for coming to the shows and screaming the words in my face. Y’all mean the world to me.

I always wanted to be a musician and use my skills as an entrepreneur to allow my band to stand out from the crowd.

As the band grew, so did I and the environment around me changed. I’m more [than] just a musician; I always want to have my mind working on something and it can be difficult in bands. They were looking for someone focused on bass.

I am not just a bassist.

My mind is always working on something:
business, my recording studio: Zero studio, music videos, twitch streams, a comic book, or a signature bass line.

I’m excited for my future, I’ve been working on a few things I know my fans will enjoy. I don’t want to give away too many details – but I’m not done with music and will return to dancing and head banging on stage with you all again soon.

Peace and love

AJ Khah”
