Sleeping With Sirens return to heavy roots with ‘How It Feels To Be Lost’

With nearly two years passing since Sleeping With Sirens took their major label venture with Gossip, it’s clear the band made it a point to prove they never really left with How It Feels To Be Lost.

With one holiday song, “Christmas On The Road,” and a collab with tourmates the Rocket Summer, “Another Day,” fans were itching for any sign of the next album cycle. Upon entering the winter of 2018, guitarist Jack Fowler sparked a long, teaser-filled road as he pondered writing “2012-sounding SWS stuff.”

Last September, Quinn offered up the same sentiment, telling a fan “You got it” after they requested “Let’s Cheers To This era vibes.” Fowler confirmed the return again in December, tweeting the band was “heavier and better than ever.”

In March, Fowler and Quinn continued their teasing on one of AP’s Instagram posts. In a question asking fans to choose between “If You Can’t Hang” or “Kick Me,” the Sleeping With Sirens guitarist wrote, “If you like these, the new stuff might have a familiar ring to it.”

As for Quinn, the singer revealed “Leave It All Behind” as his choice, which, at the time, no one realized would mark their epic return. The band made good on that promise with that track as the first single in June.

After teasing unreleased lyrics for “Never Enough” in a Never Take It Off collab, the band continued with the cycle. Releasing the resilient “Break Me Down” after a live debut and explosive “Agree To Disagree,” the band concluded their pre-album shares.
