Smash Mouth argued with fans about Shrek and it was hilarious
The internet has evolved Smash Mouth and Shrek into, well, let’s just say something beyond solely a band and movie. Smash Mouth have both “All Star” and their cover of “I’m A Believer” featured in the original Shrek movie.

Sunday night, Smash Mouth’s Twitter was alive with criticism of the NBA’s officiating. Focusing on an incident involving LeBron James, the ‘90s alt-rock group had the following to say:
@KingJames Really dude, you're gonna step over another man like that then cry like a bitch? @Money23Green @NBA @warriors #KingFraud

After the Tweet started gaining some traction, people began pointing out how odd it was that someone was using the band’s account to share their thoughts on the NBA. And of course, there were Shrek references.
@MikeKrupka @RobertKrupka @DanWeaver21 Funny because after our first #1 and a Top10 follow-up Shrek wasn't even created yet. #AllOut

@samprussell24 @NBA @warriors Oh we didn't have a #1 before Shrek was even thought of? Come on Sammy!
