Here’s what the little girls from Smashing Pumpkins' ‘Siamese Dream’ album artwork look like now

July 27 will mark the 25-year anniversary of Smashing Pumpkins' acclaimed sophomore release, Siamese Dream. With Smashing Pumpkins announcing their “Shiny and Oh So Bright” reunion tour this past week, it's only fitting to take a look back at one of their most iconic album covers.

The tour, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the band's formation, will highlight music from the group's inception through 2000. It'll exclusively feature material from Siamese Dream, as well as their groundbreaking debut Gish, Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, Adore and Machina.

As a teaser for the tour, the band's promotional team decided to track down Siamese Dream cover models Ali Laenger and LySandra Roberts.

The two girls sported smiles and butterfly wings in the image that became an iconic snapshot of the '90s. Now fully grown, the women posed once again in butterfly wings as a promotional teaser for the tour.

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan reflected on the photoshoot in an emotional post on his Instagram, after seeing the updated picture of the women together once again.

“On such a special day in SP history, I want to take a moment to thank Ali and LySandra, who you might know were the little girls that I stood by and watched have their picture taken some 23 years ago (on what was a perfect LA afternoon),” Corgan writes.

“We adore you, and having you be a part of today's launch brings tears to my eyes. For life goes fast, and I can still see you in my mind's eye wearing crisp white dresses in a stranger's backyard, looking like little Mother Mary's, smiling and laughing into the sun.”

On such a special day in SP history, I want to take a moment to thank Ali and LySandra, who you might know were the little girls that I stood by and watched have their picture taken some 23 years ago (on what was a perfect LA afternoon). Never realizing that this moment in time would forever tie usr, and go on to become such an iconic image in rock history. What's amazing is their chemistry with one another still leaps through the camera to this day and yet if memory serves they'd never met before that Siamese shoot. Which tells me their coming together, and the beauty that Melodie's shot captures, of youth and innocence, was meant to be SP's own, personal lucky star. So thank you thank you thank you Ali and LySandra, we adore you, and having you be a part of today's launch brings tears to my eyes. For life goes fast, and I can still see you in my mind's eye wearing crisp white dresses in a stranger's backyard, looking like little Mother Mary's, smiling and laughing into the sun.

The “Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour” is the band's first tour in 20 years, and will feature founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin and James Iha.

The 36-city tour will kick off in Glendale, Arizona, July 12, and tickets go on sale to the general public starting next Friday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. local time here.
