So Pornhub has a record label now

Over the summer, massive pornography website Pornhub released a NSFW music video for Coolio’s “Take It To The Tub.” Now, it looks like the company is venturing further into the music industry. Billboard has reported that yesterday marked the official launch of Pornhub Records. They are having a song search to locate an official “anthem” for Pornhub.

“We've always seen a strong music presence from the beginning of Pornhub,” company head of PR and marketing Matt Blake told Billboard. “Artists upload their own stuff, like uncensored tracks and R-rated versions of songs. Some people come in and upload exclusive videos, so it creates a buzz for them.”

The winner of their anthem song contest will be chosen by a panel of “high-profile artists” and will receive $5,000 to make a music video. The company is guaranteeing a minimum of 500,000 views, which doesn’t seem that far off, considering the site gets 40 million views a day.

On the record label, Pornhub VP Corey Price told Billboard:

“We're looking for acts that aren't necessarily porn-focused. We're an ad-based network looking for content that appeals to our demographic. Mature lyrics for an adult audience; no boy bands or teen-pop, for instance. Producers, music technicians, everyone in the business you could imagine. There's erotic folk, rap, country — everybody has come to us.”
