Social Distortion announce 40th anniversary reissue of Mommy's Little Monster

Social Distortion have announced a 40th anniversary reissue of their 1983 debut album Mommy’s Little Monster (one of the best punk albums of 1983), out on Nov. 10 via Bicycle Music/Concord. It’s been newly mastered from the original analog tapes and comes in a gatefold sleeve matching the original. We have an exclusive variant on 180g grey vinyl, limited to 500 copies. Mommy’s Little Monster includes classic tracks like “Another State of Mind,” “The Creeps,” “Telling Them,” and more, and of the album, we wrote, “Prior to rediscovering his Johnny Cash records, Mike Ness was digging the Sex Pistols, the Clash, New York Dolls, Bowie and early Rolling Stones. He abused mascara, spiked his hair high above his head, donned spray-painted rags, and treated VFWs nationwide to tuneful post-’77 racket bursts such as the killer 1982 single ‘1945.’ Mommy’s Little Monster houses nine of his best early originals: ‘Death and life as I’ve never seen before,’ he croons on ‘Hour Of Darkness.’ ‘One more trip like that and I’m in the mental ward!’ This, Social Distortion’s first, would be their punkest full-length.”
