While people are stuck at home during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, everyone is looking for new activities keeping them busy and a new project called the Colouring Sessions is offering music fans a fun and free way to fill their time.

The project is allowing free downloads of templates of album covers for people to color in and show off their creativity and musical interests.

The project currently has ten templates available to download. Some of the artists added so far include Foo FightersJudas PriestJimi Hendrix and more.

It’s an initiative Sony Music UK is launching to offer music fans a way to create a relaxing and calming environment in their homes.

The templates are able to be downloaded or colored in digitally directly on their site. They also have a gallery section where you can share your creations.

The Colouring Sessions is also adding new templates to pick through regularly and have an email signup so you can find out when new ones are available right away. A description of their intentions from their website can be found below.

“Music + colouring in = the perfect mindfulness exercise (in our opinion). Give it a go.
There are some special album covers and playlists we’ve got ready and waiting for you to discover and explore. Both of the above elements have shown to reduce stress and anxieties, help with focus and increase happiness levels. That’s the simple aim of The Colouring Sessions. We’ll be releasing more album artwork covers regularly for you, so keep checking back.”

You can download templates and find out more about the project here.

According to CNN, adult coloring books have shown to have a good impact on mental health.

While it isn’t a complete supplement to therapy or more specifically art therapy, it does offer the ability to explore emotions, mindfulness, reduce anxiety and more.
