Siri was apparently telling people that Stan Lee died yesterday

Siri was telling people that 95-year-old comic book maven Stan Lee is dead, according to a new report from one CinemaBlend reporter. Apple‘s virtual assistant was apparently voicing the erroneous information that Lee died on Monday, July 2.

Watch the video below to see how writer Sean O’Connell came across the fake news snafu. Driving home from a screening of Marvel‘s AntMan And The Wasp, in which Lee has a cameo, the writer’s son asked Siri how old the Marvel Comics icon is.

“Stan Lee died July 2, 2018, at age 95.” Yup. That was Siri’s response to the simple query, as shown in the provided clip. The journalist says he went home and scanned the news for updates, only to realize that Lee hadn’t actually passed away.

Of course, Stan Lee is still alive and kicking. Although, as O’Connell writes, it will be an “incredibly sad day when Stan ‘The Man’ finally leaves us.” Definitely. Did you catch Lee’s Ant-Man And The Wasp cameo? Sound off in the comments.

UPDATE: Apple has reportedly fixed the error, and Siri now responds correctly when asked for Stan Lee’s age.
