A trailer for the Star Trek: Discovery spinoff Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has just landed. Check it out below.

Even before the season 1 premiere, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been renewed for a second season, which has reportedly been filming since January.

The description of the new series reads as follows:

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series will feature fan favorites from season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery: Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.”

In addition, Paramount+ recently announced Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries) will play James T. Kirk in the upcoming second season.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set to premiere May 5 on Paramount+.
