'It' sequel has a release date, casting in the works
The It sequel has a director, a release date and it appears that the sequel to the 2017 horror movie blockbuster will begin to assemble its cast—the older version of the Loser's Club.

As Variety reports, Jessica Chastain is in talks to be the adult version of Beverly in the It sequel. While neither Chastain nor New Line have officially confirmed or denied her involvement in the upcoming film, sources have told Variety that she's in negotiations for the sequel, though it's still in its early stages.
The news of her potential involvement come as no surprise to many fans of the horror movie hit. The film's director, Andy Muschietti, and Chastain have previously worked together on a different project of Muschietti's—the 2013 horror hit Mama. Due to this small detail, it wouldn't be too crazy of an idea that he'd want to work with the actress on another horror flick. Not to mention, he’s previously talked about Chastain being a top choice of his for the role of Beverly.
“She loves the movie, and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen,” Muschietti previously told Variety. “There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now.”
Muschietti will be back as the film's director with Gary Dauberman working on the script. The producers of the film Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg are rumored to be returning as well.
Oh, and how could we forget this guy?
Bill Skarsgård will be coming back to eat the children, or adults, of the Loser's Club, and we're unbelievably excited to see what nightmares Skarsgård will be giving us for the sequel.
The sequel is slated to hit theaters Sept. 6, 2019, with filming reportedly to begin sometime this summer.
The sequel will cover the second half of Stephen King's massive book. Set to follow the Loser's Club almost 30 years later, the second half of the film will follow the gang as they once again are face-to-face with Pennywise, fighting for their lives once again.
While there aren't any further details about the upcoming film, we're pretty excited—or, actually, terrified—to have our favorite dancing clown be the star of our nightmares once again.
