There’s no doubt that we’re all impatiently waiting for the third season of Stranger Things to be released. Luckily, Penguin Random House has a few new projects in the works to keep our needs satisfied until then.

Beginning this fall, the publishing house will be releasing a few novels based on the Duffer Brothers’ Netflix hit.

The first is a book that takes a look at the making of the show titled, Stranger Things: World Turned Upside Down: The Official Behind-The-Scenes Companion. Then will come a yet-untitled advice guide for teens.

Last, the company will be publishing a Stranger Things prequel novel by author Gwenda Bond. This will be a completely new story detailing the backstory surrounding what happened to Eleven’s mother.

Excited yet? We are.

If you remember, we only learned a bit about Eleven’s mother’s past last season. We know that she was enrolled in the MKUltra program, eventually leaving her lobotomized and forced to live in a creepy void, but not much else. It will be interesting to get a new take on the story.

The prequel is set to be published next Spring, hopefully around the time that the third season will be released.
