'Stranger Things' Steve Harrington is still the best babysitter

A new season of Stranger Things might not come out for a while, but that doesn’t mean we’re not still obsessing over the characters… and the actors who played them.

And that’s great, because sometimes things happen that make our day. Such as Joe Keery proving Steve Harrington is still the best babysitter possible. Hear us out.

A while ago, we found out our favorite dad Steve is set to have a bigger role in Season 3.

“We’ll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in Season 3, and I’ll just say we won’t be abandoning the Dad Steve magic,” producer and director Shawn Levy shared at the time. “I don’t want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve.”

Well, it looks like Keery is ready for the role.

It all started when the show’s official Twitter profile posted this amazing picture. As you can see, the kids were out and about having fun on Halloween with incredible costumes.

As the great babysitter he is, Keery/Steve was keeping an eye on his kids. We guess he was being a little overprotective, but it’s also really cute. Our hearts can’t handle that much.

Of course, they tried to make a dramatic plea, but we have a feeling it didn’t work.

Stranger Things season 3, what we know so far

The show’s third season apparently began filming in the spring. Even though it recently started production, we have been getting some snippets of the upcoming season.

An 80’s style commercial revealed the show will have a new hang out spot for the kids and teens of Hawkins, Indiana. The place is Starcourt Mall, where you’ll find the “cool kids” frequenting. What’s more? The mall was announced to be opening in “next summer,” which means that we can only assume the new season will come then.

We also know that the cast will be adding three new characters into the Hawkins mix—an “alternative girl,” Cary Elwes playing the Hawkins mayor, a “handsome, slick and sleazy” ’80s politician and Jake Busey playing a local journalist with “questionable morals.”

Plus, as recently reported, the show will be “much darker” than previous seasons. According to Levy the show will go to some darker places than we’ve seen.

Speaking with Bad TV (apologies in advance for any translating errors) a while later, Levy shared that the show’s forthcoming season is the “most ambitious” of them all.

While he didn’t give away much, Levy did share that the new season will draw some inspiration from horror directors during the ’80s, with a specific mention of Halloween creator, John Carpenter: “There will be very much the ghost of John Carpenter and other ’80s horror directors.”

Plus, we recently found there’s a monster coming back from the Upside Down to terrorize the kids of Hawkins on season 3. Any guesses who? It’s the Mind Flayer, the monster that came for, and possessed, Will’s body in season two of the show.

The third season of Stranger Things is set to debut sometime in 2019, and we can’t wait.
