‘Stranger Things’ 16-bit console game gets release date
Stranger Things 3: The Game will feature 12 different playable characters who each have different skills. It will be 16-bit animation that uses currently technology.
The game will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Mac and PC. However, there will also be a version for mobile devices.
Now, it’s been reported that the game will be released alongside season 3 on July 4.
It will be the first console game, as the show has dropped a mobile game in the past that we were super in love with.
You can watch a trailer for the game below. As previously mentioned, Stranger Things dropped the first trailer for season 3 this week. The trailer came after the show’s account made a vague teaser featuring a video of rats on the run with the caption “it’s almost feeding time.”
Then, the trailer dropped and you can watch that below.
As previously reported, the show’s producers recently shared that Season 3 will take place during the summer of 1985, a year after Season 2. Plus, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), as well as Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink), will begin the season as couples.
The best news, though? Producer and director Shawn Levy tells fans that Steve (Joe Keery) will have a bigger role in Season 3—and dad Steve is BACK.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, David Harbour teased that the show will be taking some inspiration from some “great films” that were released in 1985.
“If you’re a real fan of Stranger Things and you really want to know,” Harbour says. “I would go look at the great films that were released in ’85, of which there were many, and just go down that list and think of the possibilities that we could be going with. I think it is a specific season to 1985, and so you’ll see references to that.”
