According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast spilled that Season 3 will take place during the summer of 1985, a year after Season 2. This is big for the series; rather than being school-centric, it will be focused around summer activities while the kids are out of school.

Plus, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), as well as Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink), will begin the season as couples. *heart eye emoji*

The best news, though? Producer and director Shawn Levy tells fans that Steve (Joe Keery) will have a bigger role in Season 3—and dad Steve is BACK.

“We'll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in Season Three, and I'll just say we won't be abandoning the Dad Steve magic. I don't want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve,” Levy said.

While the cast hasn't laid eyes on the script just yet, they begin filming this month.

As previously reported, the cast will be adding three new characters—and an “alternative girl” character who we're stoked to meet.
