Alan Rickman's handwritten diaries will be published in October

Madly Deeply: The Diaries Of Alan Rickman is on its way. The book is scheduled to release Oct. 18 via Henry Holt.

Rickman actor detailed his life in 27 volumes, intending to publish the works later. His writing has been compressed into a single volume that offers an intimate look into the life of the beloved actor.

Rickman began writing his diaries in the ’90s and persisted until December 2015. He passed away Jan. 14, 2016 at 69.

Rickman’s Sense And Sensibility co-star Kate Winslet wrote an entry for the book’s introduction, and his widow, Rima Horton, penned the afterword.

Rickman’s first major film role was his portrayal of Hans Gruber in 1988’s Die Hard. He went on to lead an extensive acting career, appearing in all seven Harry Potter films, Galaxy Quest, DogmaThe Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy and more.
