Ashe performs vibrant, orchestral “Me Without You” on Seth Meyers—watch

Indie pop artist Ashe took to the Late Night with Seth Meyers stage last night performing an eclectic live performance of “Me Without You.”

She offered a refreshing, vibrant show from inside a low-lit lounge, decked out with neon signs and lights. Ashe danced around the vintage-looking setting and revealed a balloon wall spelling “Ashlyn” in reference to her new record. The camera then followed the artist, clad in a light gray pantsuit, toward her band as well as an eight-piece string ensemble, sharing yet another surprise for viewers to take in.

The bright and string-laden track appears on Ashe’s brand-new debut album Ashlyn, which arrived on May 7. The song also has a whimsical music video that premiered May 5, featuring her own creative direction.

Ashe’s 14-track LP also includes a very special collab entitled “Till Forever Falls Apart” with vocals from none other than FINNEAS. The duo both shine with their powerful, sweet vocals that narrate a beautiful love story that may or may not make even the toughest music listeners misty-eyed. The two are nothing short of euphoric in their intimate dance and vocal performance.

Many music fans may have first learned of the artist when her raw track detailing her divorce “Moral Of The Story” found virality on TikTok. Famous content creators such as Charli D’Amelio, Quen Blackwell and more shared the sound featuring the lyrics, “Some mistakes get made, that’s alright, that’s okay,” in both serious and funny videos garnering millions of views. The rest is history.

On Ashlyn, a bonus version of “Moral Of The Story” appears with featured vocalist Niall Horan. The duo performed this version live on fellow late-night talk show The Late Late Show With James Corden

Ashe’s mystifying performance was preceded by interviews with actress Amy Adams and Democratic politician and author Stacey Abrams, as well as Meyers’ recurring desk bit “Ya Burnt” featuring jokes about vaccine cards, Philly accents and more.

Meyers is definitely a friend to the alt community as he has hosted artists such as Ashnikko, Weyes Blood, Post Malone, Gwen Stefani and more. In fact, on May 7, he had a chat with Dave Grohl followed by a Foo Fighters performance of “Chasing Birds” from Medicine At Midnight. You can watch that episode here.

Ashe did tease her TV performance for LNSM over the weekend when she posted a short video walking up to a story window with old television sets. The sets displayed the logos for The Today Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers and American Idol. The caption reads, “BIG TV WEEK.”

Ashe will appear on The Today Show this week for an interview and performance with FINNEAS. Tune in to NBC Thursday at 9 a.m. EST to catch the duo perform live. You can watch Ashe on American Idol May 16 at 8 p.m. EST perform alongside FINNEAS again, as he appears on the show to mentor the contestants leading up to the finale.

Beyond appearing on your TV screens, Ashe has a whole week of other events planned to connect with fans, as well. Listeners can catch the second episode of her Ashlyn documentary on YouTube at 10 a.m. PST following her Today Show performance. You can check out “Ashlyn Episode 1: A Matter of Time” to get an inside look into how the singer began her album and why she knew it was the right time to become vulnerable with the world.

Additionally, on May 14, fans can log on to Twitter for a special #askashe session starting at 11 a.m. PST.
