Here’s what Barack Obama listened to in 2018

Barack Obama has shared his personal year-end list to Facebook. However, the 44th president of the United States has some picks that one might not expect including Courtney Barnett and Hozier.

The full post includes Obama’s favorite films, books and songs from over the past year.

“As 2018 draws to a close, I’m continuing a favorite tradition of mine and sharing my year-end lists,” Obama says in the Facebook post. “It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved. It also gives me a chance to highlight talented authors, artists, and storytellers – some who are household names and others who you may not have heard of before. Here’s my best of 2018 list – I hope you enjoy reading, watching, and listening.”

Among Obama’s favorite songs, Courtney Barnett’s “Need a Little Time,” Kurt Vile’s “One Trick Ponies” and Hozier’s “Nina Cried Power” sit proudly nestled in a sea of absolute bangers.

Obama’s list also features songs from Cardi B, Janelle Monáe, Chance the Rapper and Prince. Check out the full list of songs here

Obama’s favorite films include Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Shoplifters and the Mr. Rogers biopic, Won’t You Be My Neighbor.

Additionally, the ex-president shares a plethora of good reads, including his wife’s “Becoming,” to which he specifies is his favorite.
