Riverdale season 3 is quickly approaching and it’s caused one star to look back on her audition.

Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge in the CW’s teen drama Riverdale, recently sat with Nylon where she shared what the auditions were like for the show.

“I remember that moment so vividly, the three of us being in that room,” Mendes said. “I remember sitting next to Lili, being like, ‘So, where are you from?’ Just small talk before the audition.”

She continued on to say that once she began talking to Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones, they quickly realized they had something in common:

“I remember talking with Cole. We bonded over the fact that we both sweat a lot before auditions. I was literally in the room with paper towels… I would keep them under my arms and right before they called my name I would just put them away.”

It’s hard to imagine that these two were so nervous during their auditions, as we can’t imagine Veronica and Jughead being played by anyone else.

Details of the show’s third season have been pretty scarce, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have some information.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Riverdale‘s showrunner, teased the show’s theme back in May with the Hollywood Reporter, where he shared that fans should “absolutely” expect something new from the show.

“In season one, we did a murder mystery, and in season two, we did a serial killer in a small town and The Godfather in a small town. Season three will have a high genre element like that.”

While we’re not entirely sure what the new season will be focused on, we do know that we may be seeing some new faces in the town of Riverdale…including a Pretty Little Liars‘ alum.

The CW recently dropped the premiere dates of all of our fave shows, and we were beyond excited to see Riverdale is returning to the network this October!

The first episode of Season 3 will air on Wednesday, October 10 at 8 p.m. and we’re already counting down the days until the show comes back.
