'Charlie Brown' movie gets 3-D treatment, film set for 2015 release

America's most well-loved pessimist is coming to the big screen–and in 3-D.

Today at CinemaCon, Century Fox announced that Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang will get the big-screen treatment in 2015.

According to The Wrap, Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift) will direct the movie. The article also says it took two years for Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios to convince the family of Charlie Brown creator, Charles Schulz, to give  them the rights.

For more than sixty years, Peanuts has been a pop-culture icon, from the comic strip's first appearence in print in 1950 to the classic film A Charlie Brown Christmas which came out in 1965.
