Donate to New Noise Group's Kickstarter and get a call from Jason Butler of letlive.

Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization New Noise Group have launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a free recording studio in the LA area.

The group have until November 28 to reach their goal of $25,000 and donations can be made here.

Donated funds will be used to secure studio space and purchase gear like studio computers, audio interfaces, i/o interfaces, preamps, outboard gear. sound reinforcement, cables, headphones, stands and other necessary equipment.

They hope to create a studio that will allow aspiring artists to record professional-grade work at little to no cost as well as a place for interested minds to get hands on experience and education in the music field.

Backer rewards range from a simple thank you to a personal phone call from Jason Butler of letlive. and much more.

“Over the past decade or so, the entire music industry has been turned upside down with the digitization of music through Napster, iTunes, and music streaming,” says New Noise founder and CEO Omid Majdi.

“One thing that has remained the same, despite the changes around it, is the record-making process. The only choices artists get these days are to either deal with crippling debt in recouping costs, or take on the challenge of doing it themselves. Our goal is to take the money out of the equation and have an end product that isn't representative of a massive loan, and also embodies music that was not confined and defined by the money used to create it; we call this ORGANIC MUSIC.”

The studio is expected to open in February 2014 and classes offered to those interested include;

Intro to Music Production
Recording for the Home Studio
Pro Tools 101
Logic 101
Reason 101
Microphones & Mic Techniques
Critical Listening & Ear Training
Mixing Techniques
Mastering Techniques
