Looks like Star Wars will never, ever end—not that we're complaining.

Game Of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are set to write and produce a new series of Star Wars movies.

According to StarWars.com, the new films will be separate from both The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson's forthcoming trilogy and the anthology that includes Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

“In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and we’ve been dreaming of it ever since,” said Benioff and Weiss in a statement. “We are honored by the opportunity, a little terrified by the responsibility, and so excited to get started.”

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also shares her thoughts about the project: “David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today. Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.”

There isn't a release date for the movies yet, but the writers said they will start working on the project when Game Of Thrones ends. The eighth and final season of the TV series is set to air in 2019.
