Genie’s first ‘Aladdin’ remake reveal confuses internet
Entertainment Weekly recently revealed the first look of the forthcoming Aladdin live-action remake. However, the reveal seems to have disappointed many long-time fans.
According to the reveal, the genie, played by Will Smith, does not appear to be blue. Instead, it shows the genie in his natural skin.

Of course, this has led many people on Twitter to voice their concern over the character’s appearance.

However, an Instagram post from Smith reveals that the genie will, in fact, be blue. Smith tells fans not to worry, as the reveal shows Smith’s character in his human disguise.
“Yes, I’m gonna be BLUE,” Smith says of the Genie. “This is how the Genie is in Human / Disguise Form. My character will be CGI most of the movie.”
