‘It: Chapter Two’ behind-the-scenes footage revealed at CCXP

Pop culture festival CCXP in Brazil teased It fans this weekend. For the It: Chapter Two panel, Warner Bros. had something special in store for the film’s following.

Despite not being in theaters until next September, Warner Bros. showed a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel for the forthcoming horror sequel.

According to Collider, the sizzle reel didn’t contain a lot of actual footage from the film. However, all who were at CCXP got to catch a glimpse of the adult cast walking across a bridge. The behind-the-scenes video also features a shot of the cast on the first read-through of the script. Additionally, fans got to see some pre-production artwork.

The video also featured director Andy Muschietti talking about his goals for the film. Muschietti revealed that the film will be more intense and scarier than the first one.

Recently, Warner Bros. released a spoiler-free synopsis of the film that hints at a spooky return to Derry, Maine.

“Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, IT: Chapter Two brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.”

IT: Chapter Two, what we know so far:

It: Chapter Two, set to be directed by Andy Muschietti, will see the adult version of the Losers’ Club return to Derry, Maine, 27 years later to face Pennywise once again.

Jessica Chastain is set to play Beverly Marsh, James McAvoy will play Bill Denbrough, Bill Hader will take on the role of Richie Tozier, James Ransone will be Eddie Kaspbrak, Jay Ryan will play Ben Hanscom and Andy Bean will play Stan Uris and Isaiah Mustafa will play Mike Hanlon.

While the film will focus on the adult version of the club, that doesn’t mean the kids from the first film won’t make an appearance. As previously reported, the kids from the first film will appear in flashbacks during the sequel.

In addition to the new and old versions of the club appearing in the film, we also know that Bill Skarsgård will be coming back to eat the children, uhm, adults, of the Loser’s Club.

It was also reported that Chapter Two will see the adults of the Loser’s Club tackling the strange ritual that involves the group biting each other’s tongues and laughing. Writer Gary Dauberman spilled the beans to CinemaBlend, saying:

“The Ritual of Chüd is challenging,” he says, “but it’s such an important component to the book that we had to address it.” Dauberman credits the creative bond between production members in overcoming the “difficult to balance” passage.

It: Chapter 2, based on the Stephen King novel, will be in theaters Sept. 6, 2019!
