Kasabian have quashed their beef with My Chemical Romance

After calling My Chemical Romance's music “weird and dark,” Kasabian have made amends with My Chemical Romance after sharing a flight with frontman Gerard Way.

This all started back in 2006 when Kasabian blasted My Chemical Romance in an interview with The Sun. In said interview, Kasabian called the band “clowns” along with saying, “These emo kids should get out more and try and have a good time instead.”

This interview happened about only a week before My Chemical Romance released The Black Parade which sold extremely well, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 at the time. Kasabian had released their sophomore album Empire a couple months before. Empire did not sell nearly as well only peaking at 114 on the Billboard 200.

However, it appears now that any hard feelings between the two bands is gone after frontman Tom Meighan shared a flight with MCR's frontman Gerard Way. Meighan told Q Magazine that Way actually bought him a bottle of champagne.

“We’re looking at each other, so I said ‘look man, let’s have peace here!’ And he just laughed. He bought me a bottle of champagne and we got pissed. What a sweet man. He’s fucking cool!”

We agree Tom, Gerard is pretty cool!

Way recently confirmed that his series, Umbrella Academy, would be making it's way to Netflix with a 10-episode, live action series, slated for a 2018 debut.

“I am thrilled that The Umbrella Academy has found a home at Netflix,” Way said, Deadline reports. “I couldn’t think of a better place for the vision Gabriel Bá and myself had when creating the comic and cannot wait for people to experience that world as a live-action show.
