Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley challenges civility: "shove harder"

Every Time I Die‘s Keith Buckley apparently takes exception with a message promoted by the non-profit The Foundation for a Better Life. Opposing a billboard ad encouraging civility, Buckley tells dissenting youth to “shove harder.”

On Monday, Buckley retweeted an image showing a billboard advertisement from the foundation’s Pass It On campaign. The pictured ad seemingly advocates for civility. It reads, “When push comes to shove, don’t.” (As well as, “Civility is in you.”)

Buckley’s response to the ad seems like a passionate call of resistance. “[S]teaming pigsh*t thieves are so scared of the youth revolt that they’re taking out ads begging you to stop being mean,” he says. “[S]hove harder.” See the tweet below.

Where the photo originated

However, Buckley’s billboard image was originally shared by cartoonist Jeffrey Rowland. He pondered the “1984-ass billboard [he] saw outside of Hartford” and “wonder[ed] why they decided against ‘Stop Resisting'” as the campaign slogan.

What’s “Pass It On”?

The Foundation for a Better Life was established in 2000 to promote “good values.” Its website, PassItOn.com, was originally known as Values.com. As can be seen, the organization has billboards placed around the country.
