Hear metal band Killset cover Kris Kross' '90s hit "Jump"

West Coast nu-metal band Killset deliver a nostalgic ’90s send-up with their cover/parody version of teen rap group Kris Kross‘ 1992 hip-hop hit “Jump,” premiered today over at Loudwire. Check out the band’s cover below!

The video for Killset’s “Jump” parody, directed by Kerry Porter, is steeped in ’90s references. From Starter clothes to beepers and even a throwback to O.J. Simpson’s 1994 Bronco chase, the golden age vibe is strong in the clip.

“We wanted to cover a song that already had a cool vibe on its own and impart the Killset style into it,” says the band of their remake. “The idea of a bunch of metal guys dressing up like Kris Kross just sounded like way too much fun.”

Killset singer Luca describes the band’s video shoot for the Kris Kross cover: “I wrote the script and then we went to thrift stores and bought the biggest jeans they had, Timberland boots, leather woven belts, boomboxes, jerseys, Cross Colours clothes and I had my mom send out my old pager.” Check out the killer cover, below, as well as the original Kris Kross video.
