Details are sparse without a writer on board either. Rumors say it will be based on the Madame Web comic-book character though.

What Variety does know though is that the studio is looking for an A-list actor and will be hiring a writer afterwards to design a script around them.

The publication’s sources tell them that a list of possible stars include Charlize Theron and Amy Adams but stress that no one has signed on yet.

Clarkson is the only person involved so far. In the past, she’s worked on shows including Banshee, Bates Motel and Succession.

The Venom sequel will now be taking the release date Robert Pattinson‘s The Batman was set to arrive after it was reported that it was delaying its release.

Other Sony films are also being pushed back on their release calendar.
