In a recent interview with Uproxx, Espinosa says, “I would bet your life on that you would have Miles Morales from The Spider-Verse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point.”

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse came out in 2018. It received rave reviews, going on to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Morales and co. are set to return for two animated sequels, Across the Spider-Verse Part One and Two. The subsequent films are due out in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

It’s unclear exactly how Morales will enter the MCU, but Spider-Man: No Way Home seems to have referenced the character already. At one point in the film, Electro (Jamie Foxx) sees Andrew Garfield‘s Spider-Man unmasked. He comments, “There’s gotta be a Black Spider-Man out there somewhere.”
