Ozzy Osbourne expected to release a new album in 2020

Despite facing some serious health issues this year, Ozzy Osbourne is expected to drop his next full-length solo record in 2020.

According to his wife Sharon Osbourne, the follow up to 2010’s Scream will arrive in January of next year.

As a recent guest on SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle Show, Sharon offers an update on the status of her husband’s health and music career.

“He’s getting there,” she began. “He’s just finished an album, the album’s coming out [in] January.”

She also spoke on his collab with rapper Post Malone and how its success has given Ozzy a much-needed morale boost after having a rough year.

“It’s doing great, it’s on Top 40 radio and it’s climbing every week,” she added. “It’s been a huge boost for him because he felt literally worthless.”

She elaborates on how his health affected his mental state saying he was “near to tears” watching anything about touring or bands on TV because of his tour cancellations this year.

“He goes, ‘I miss my life, I want my life back.’ It’s been really hard on him. But he’s getting there. He’ll be back,” she says.

Luckily, fans still waiting to see his final run of shows will get that opportunity to. “He’s not totally retiring, but the touring — he won’t do anymore touring,” Sharon says.

In an interview with The Sun earlier this fall where the Ozzy talked about his health status, he also mentioned the new album.

“I’ve made a new album and it’s helped get me back on track. I was just lying in my own self-pity for months. It’s the greatest album I’ve done,” he said. “If it wasn’t for making this record I would still be on traction, thinking, ‘I’m going to be lying here forever’. I’ve missed music so badly. My fans are so loyal and so good. Up until making the album I thought I was dying. But that got me off my arse.”
